Human Development Report
Audit
of East Timor's Electoral Roll
As part of UNDP's
assistance to the electoral process in East Timor an audit of the
electoral roll was carried out recently. The main objective of the
audit was to promote confidence in the electoral roll and make recommendations
regarding the development of electoral rolls for future elections
in East Timor.
Capacity
Development for Governance and Public Sector Management -- Programme
Overview.
This document
contains the overview of a sector-wide approach programme to develop
capacities for the evolving East Timor system of governance and
public sector management (GPSM). The focus is to prepare the ground
for the transition to a new administration; to develop and strengthen
basic cross-sector capacities essential for the functioning of a
lean public administration supportive of a market economy in a democratic
system of governance.
Assessing
Environmental Needs and Priorities in East Timor
This report
is based on hundreds of consultations and forms East Timor's first
comprehensive statement on the Environment. A number of vital issues
and priorities were identified during the consultations. Many of
these concerns effect local communities and are not environmental
in a strict sense (e.g. drinking water, access to markets), however,
most economic or social concerns in East Timor are related to environmental
management issues.
Building
Blocks for a Nation (CCA)
In November
2000 the UN Agencies compiled the first report to provide a snapshot
of the socioeconomic state of East Timor. Even today the document
is the most comprehensive reference document, packed with facts
and figures about East Timor today, yesterday and with recommendations
for the future.
