New cost sharing agreement signed
with Finland!
Mr. Esa Hurtig, the
Deputy Head of Mission for Finland, recently signed a new
cost-sharing agreement with the UNDP, according a total of
€110,000 to fund IT positions in Timor-Leste's state
institutions.
Pilot Project "Capacity Development for Translators and
Interpreters for the Justice Sector in Timor-Leste" Launched
on October 4th, 2004.
On Monday, October 4th,
the Ministry of Justice of Timor-Leste, the Universidade Timor
Lorosa'e and the UNDP launched courses in legal translation
and court interpreting. The pilot project's steering
committee is chaired by H.E. Ana Pessoa, Senior Minister, and
has members from the Government, the Council of Coordination
for the Justice Sector, UNTL, Ireland Development Cooperation

Institutional Capacity Development
Workshop, August 10th.
On August 10th, 2004,
UNDP and CSG advisors attended a workshop on institutional
capacity development. The focus of the workshop was the
transition to institution-based capacity development
strategies, including exit strategy. For the full report
